Local Mission Project- Formerly Burgess Glenn Trailer Park now called Hibiscus Homes.
A local pastor, Ken Fetaeo, Unity Baptist, has purchased the old Burgess Glenn Mobile Home Park. This park currently houses 75 families, with 80+ vacant trailers. We have been given up to 3 trailers to be used for ministry and church planting. On July 2 5 local pastors met to pray over this community.
We will have two local ministry projects one on Saturday August 24 and September 7 from 9-4. We are asking churches to adopt a trailer to help clean out some of the 80+ vacant trailers. We are asking for a team of 8 a team of 4 to be inside the trailer and 4 to help clean the outside lot. So far 6 churches have committed at least one team. The association will provide lunch for these teams on these ministry days at our ministry trailer.
We look to begin after school tutoring, outreach bible studies, youth and children activities, etc for this community in the fall.
Maine Mission Trip-October 9-15- At this time we have 21 people committed to participate in the Maine Mission Trip. Representing 12 of our churches. These teams will be traveling to coastal Maine to assist in some construction needs, outreach at a local pumpkin festival, praying over communities that need a local church, and encouraging local coastal church planters. I look for this team to grow to about 25-30 by October. New Salem and some other churches have been knitting hats for the Lobstermen of Maine. We will be distributing 150-200 of these hats.
